Very poor service. I don't recommend this please to anyone. They over charge mine card.I spend 2 nights and i was charge for 3. Room wasn't clean. BAD, BAD, BAD

I guess I'll start off by saying I don't typically write negative reviews, in fact I think this is the only one I have ever written but it needs to be done. I stayed at the Quality Inn in Hackettstown for two nights. The first night I stayed in a friends room and while watching TV we noticed the toilet kept running. I removed the tank lid and found a jacked up chain for the plunger that had clearly been messed with and was too short to cover the hole and fill the tank back up with water, thus not allowing the toilet to flush. I pushed the plunger down, showed my friend how we were going to have to manually operate the toilet and we went to bed. The next day I stayed in my own room and heard a similar sound; the water running in the toilet tank. I removed the tank lid and found the chain being held on by a paper clip and not even connected to the plunger so the toilet wouldn't flush from the handle. So basically the toilet didn't work in my room either. I am an easy going guy however. I get it. Things break, no biggie. My problem is how they handled it. When I went to go check out the following morning I told the guy at the front desk my issue. He looked at me as if I had 3 heads. He then typed something on his computer, looked back up at me, back at his computer, up back at me and said; 'ah. I'm sorry'. Now to be completely honest I wasn't even going to ask for any sort of reimbursement but after all I got was a confused look and a 'sorry' I asked for one. He did his looking and typing again and said he couldn't do anything. Nothing? Nothing. Two nights of having toilets that only worked if I stuck my hand in the tank and they couldn't do anything for me. I think that pretty much sums up why I had to give them a 1 star review.
Nice rooms, good service. Located close to a fast food restaurant. Does have a small breakfast as well.

This place is badly in need of a renovation and new, updated linens, etc. Even though our room was listed as non-smoking, there was evidence of cigarette burns in the very old comforter. The carpet was old, the bathroom tile looks like it hadn't been cleaned thoroughly in about a year, but it was safe, and the water was warm and the TV reception was very clear with plenty of channels.
The continental breakfast was decent at best, no frills, but free, of course. The Wi-Fi was adequate, but spotty in some areas. Overall, I would look elsewhere if staying here again.
