Hello. My Name is Dee Chambless. We live in Independence and use the Hackettstown Post Office. This morning we were in Stells G's eating breakfast. The corners there were covered with Migrant Workers. This is a common problem in almost every city. I does reduce the comfort on those corners. I have no objection to Migrant Workers or any person looking for work. In other countries, standing outside like that may be socially acceptable.
Loitering brings down the status in every city... in most of America...not necessarily in other countries.
There should be some location on a Main Street or near a Hardware Store where those workers can go and people know where to find them.
Do not threaten. Do Inform.
James and I owned a Costume Rental Store in a Strip Mall on a main street in Riverside CA. I worked with a Code Enforcement Officer in that City. When I saw someone loitering in or near our mall that officer was contacted. She was really good at coming and addressing "Loitering".

I talked with a contractor who lives behind me. He says the gazebo on that corner should be used for those workers. I agree. That is not a bad idea.
Are these "Loitering Codes" already on the books here? If not...Maybe They Should Be...Or Should Be Endorsed.
